Fun Slime Recipe
All great witches should have a couple of recipes for slime tucked away somewhere!
Perfect for amusing children (of all ages) during the holidays or on a rainy day and wonderful for Halloween.
This slime is an absolute doddle to make. It has the added benefit of holding itself together in a blob – and gets firmer the more you fiddle with it - so it’s not really messy to make or play with. Cleans up easily with water.
You won’t believe how great this slime is – it’s just like the stuff you buy in the shops.
It’s safe to play with, but do supervise younger children so they don’t eat it.
You will need:
- Borax powder
- PVA kids glue (clear glue makes clear slime & white glue gives opaque slime)
- Water
- Food colouring (if you want coloured slime)
To make the slime:
1) Mix 1 teaspoon of borax in 1 cup of water. Stir to dissolve the borax.
2) In a separate container, mix 1/2 cup of glue ) in 1/2 cup of water. Add a few drops of food colouring if you want to.
3) When the glue is mixed into the water, tip the contents of one container into the other, and mix.
4) Instant slime!
There will be some water left over when you pick out the slime blob – you can just pour this away.
If you want to store the slime and stop it from drying out, you can just drop it into a zip-lock bag and seal it up. Keep it in the fridge to stop it from going mouldy.
By pushing the slime into an empty plastic beaker with your fingers, you can get it to make some quite gruesome squelching and trumpeting noises. Hours of fun.
